I Remember You by James Clay

In 1960, Clay made his greatest impact, leading two excellent albums for Riverside. “The Sound of the Wide Open Spaces,” teams him with David “Fathead” Newman (another Texas tenor), pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Arthur Taylor. The two tenors battle it out on a variety of tunes and the results are a tie for the saxophonists and a victory for the listeners. “A Double Dose o...

What album is this track actually on?
I’m sure there’s nothing I want to talk about.
Like what ?
Considering what you charge for concert tickets, you don't need to be Mr. Gates. You're already greedy enough, & at least he gives massive amounts to charity, unlike yourself...
They can really play. Musicianship extraordinaire.
Best jazz piece ever. Full stop.

Great group n one of my Favourites when their songs came out.., 🙏❤️👍🙏
"We're wanted in Tucson, we know" great lyrics
Oh Ya my hero Lee McBee
Awesome as usual
Ah, Kanye West, that exemplary human being to whom so many lost souls are still genuflecting. In an appearance on Alex Jones's InfoWars, West praised Adolf Hitler, denied the Holocaust, and identified himself as a Nazi. After the interview, West used his Twitter account to post a picture of a swastika entangled in a Star of David.
"I'm offering ten to one odds that this new machine can drive steal faster then anyone alive... There's gotta be someone man enough to try. My name's John Henry and mister you got yourself a bet!" -Tall Tale

I had an Atlantic compiation album in the 70's and Memphis Underground was one of my favs along with Shorty Rogers and Compared to What.
Only eight comments at the time of writing. Well, this tune is only from one of the greatest jazz albums ever. But this is the UK where jazz is an incredibly poor relation to the mindless, tuneless, boring repetitive crap that goes by the name of pop music. But you can't blame the UK public here, because pop is what they are fed, on virtually every music channel here. Why? Because the music 'industry' as it has become known, is nothing more than a money-making machine that exploits the young, here today, gone tomorrow 'talent' that makes money for a few greedy moguls. Long live the likes of Count Basie!!
Ooh how I wish I could hear my sweet Granmama pray again. I miss her so!! I take gladness that I’ll rejoice with her once again one day. 🙏🙌🙏🙌

My understanding is that it is a tribute to his grandparents who were murdered in Texas after a garage sale. You can hear the pain half way through. Chills. My all-time favorite. Prayers Mike. Thanks for sharing your talent all these years!!
Brilliant band ❤
Just brilliant. Subtle.
😎💯
I once was a convict in a CA prison, the writer of this wonderful song, Allan Rich, came into this prison as a volunteer to address us interested offenders. The prison had a music room. Allan, who was in the middle of a string of big hits, was so gracious, encouraging, humble and informative. That was back in the 80's and this song has stayed with me since then. I'm not a professional musician but I have led musical worship in church for over 25 years since then as well. God bless Allan and also the one and only late folk icon Len Chandler who made that encounter happen. They made such a difference in this humble sinner's life.
I always wanted to be a run a mama but had too many responsibilities.❤
Coach Jackson is still in the area. Not long ago, he was celebrated and honored by the Boys Club.
Im not gonna lie, being a modern tech is MENTAL WARFARE, but GOD DAMN there is nothing like fixing a differential, diagnosing a motor and breathing life back into it, even simple oil and tires to keep an average perosn rolling, i see alot of sides of people through my line of work, and this song fills me with the good times when i get the smiles and thank yous when they get there car back, love that, and this song brings out that feeling, of being terrifyingly capable and downright badass, tire change in -15°? Send it lets get it done, make moves get things done and love what you do 💪
Merle is the best, WOW!!!
